KITTY HAWK KITES SELECTED AS ONE OF THE "BEST OUTFITTERS ON EARTH"

(Kitty Hawk Kites selected as one of the Best Outfitters on Earth, North Carolina)

Nags Head, NC (October 25, 2008) - Kitty Hawk Kites was just chosen as one of the "Best Outfitters on Earth" by National Geographic Adventure magazine. National Geographic Adventure conducted surveys of Outfitters and their customers around the world, with Kitty Hawk Kites being one of them. In order to be one of the 105 named "Best Outfitters on Earth" the Outfitter had to have scored above 80% in the customer surveys. According to a representative with National Geographic Adventure, Kitty Hawk Kites ranked far above the 80% required.

In June of 2007, National Geographic Adventure began conducting a comprehensive rating of the world's adventure-travel outfitters and compiled a list of the frontrunners. This directory will be featured in the magazine as well as on their website. To be eligible, Kitty Hawk Kites, as well as other Outfitters, had to fill out a comprehensive questionnaire that was based on four categories: Education and Interpretation; Sustainable-Travel Practices; Quality of Service; and Spirit of Adventure. Once the questionnaires were evaluated, Kitty Hawk Kites had to provide National Geographic Adventure’s researchers with customers from around the World. National Geographic Adventure contacted those customers and asked several questions using a 100 point rating system. It was the customer surveys that determined who would be listed in the Top 105 Best Outfitters on Earth.

National Geographic Adventure magazine, is itself a winner of numerous national and international awards, including the 2006 and 2007 Best Consumer Travel Magazine award given by Folio Magazine. It currently has a circulation of more than 600,000 and was launched just over 8 years ago.
